Objection Handling

How do I know your team has the expertise we need?

Underlying Concerns:

  • The prospect may have had previous experiences with providers who lacked the necessary skills, leading them to question your team’s capabilities.
  • They may be concerned about whether your team understands their specific challenges, technology stack, or industry standards.
  • The prospect likely needs assurance that your team has the technical qualifications, certifications, and experience relevant to their needs.
  • They want to feel confident that your team will be able to deliver high-quality work, avoid errors, and provide reliable solutions.

How to Tackle the Objection:

  1. Acknowledge their need for skilled expertise: Show empathy, recognizing that it’s natural to want confidence in the capabilities of any service provider.
  2. Highlight team qualifications and certifications: Reassure them by mentioning certifications, skills, and specialized training that demonstrate your team’s expertise.
  3. Share relevant experience and success stories: Reference previous projects or client success stories that demonstrate how your team has successfully handled similar requirements.
  4. Offer a technical consultation or pilot project: If possible, suggest a technical consultation or a small pilot project to let them experience your team’s capabilities firsthand, without a full commitment.

Sample Script (Detailed and Simple Language):

Prospect: "How do I know your team has the expertise we need?"

You: "That’s a great question, [Prospect’s Name]. I understand that when you’re partnering with an IT provider, it’s essential to feel confident in their technical abilities and industry knowledge."

  • "Our team has extensive experience in [relevant technologies or areas], with certifications in [mention certifications, such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Cisco, etc.]. Many of our team members have worked on similar projects, and we regularly invest in training to keep up with the latest advancements."

  • "In fact, we recently helped a client in [mention a relevant industry or sector] with a similar challenge, and they saw significant improvements in [mention specific outcomes, like system efficiency, reduced downtime, or enhanced security]. I’d be happy to share a case study with you if that would be helpful."

  • "Additionally, if it would give you more confidence, we could start with a small pilot project or arrange a technical consultation with one of our experts to discuss your specific needs and demonstrate our capabilities. Would that be of interest to you?"

Probing Questions to Engage the Prospect:

  • "Are there particular skills or areas of expertise you’re looking for? We can discuss our team’s experience in those areas to ensure we’re a good fit."
  • "Have you had challenges with service providers in the past? We can focus on showing you how our approach addresses those concerns."
  • "Would seeing some client testimonials or a case study from a similar project help illustrate our team’s expertise?"

Call to Action:

Offer to provide client case studies, arrange a technical consultation, or propose a pilot project to let them see your team’s expertise in action.

Example:
"Let’s schedule a technical consultation where one of our experts can discuss your requirements in detail and showcase how our team’s skills align with your needs. Alternatively, we could start with a pilot project to demonstrate our capabilities. Would that be helpful?"

Key Points to Emphasize:

  1. Team Certifications and Qualifications: Mention relevant certifications, qualifications, and technical training that prove your team’s expertise, such as AWS, Microsoft, or Cisco certifications.

  2. Relevant Experience and Success Stories: Share success stories or case studies from similar projects or industries, showing that your team has a track record of delivering results.

  3. Pilot Project or Technical Consultation: If possible, offer a small pilot project or technical consultation as a low-risk way for them to assess your team’s expertise firsthand.

  4. Commitment to Ongoing Training: Highlight that your team stays up-to-date with the latest advancements, showing your dedication to continuous learning and relevant skill-building.
